The pre order date, or the launch date communicated was the 14th of December, 2017. While Atari’s die hard fans were waiting eagerly for the launch date and had their wallets and plastic cards ready. Some were even about to shatter their piggy banks but ALAS!
Atari decides to delay Ataribox Launch date.
While I was going through my inbox I stumbled across an email from Atari. As expected, I opened up the email with utmost zeal hoping to see some interesting announcement in the email. To be honest, I was expecting a massive discount from Atari as they promised to reward their lucky subscribers. I mentioned about this discount in my last article. Since the launch date has been extended, I guess there’s still a chance to enroll win a chance of the discount.
How you can get this discount? Well, it’s all mentioned here in this article:
Any ways, coming back to the email I was talking about; instead of the discount, the announcement was actually of a delay that Atari decided to apply on its console’s launch date.
The email did not only include the announcement but the reason of the delay as well.
Here’s the content of the email:
Ataribox Launch Date Delay – Email
The countdown to the Ataribox launch on Indiegogo has been officially paused. Because of one key element on our checklist, it is taking more time to create the platform and ecosystem the Atari community deserves. Building Ataribox is incredibly important to us and we will do whatever it takes to be sure it is worth the wait.
An updated launch plan is underway and more detailed information will be available soon.
We will be keeping you, our community, informed every step of the way. Thank you again for your support of Ataribox.
-The Ataribox Team
While the delay may strike as a disappointment to many restless fans but on the brighter side, let’s hope they finished product is top notch and does not give a “There’s something missing” feeling.
After all, the gaming industry is already fed up with launch of unfinished products.
Cough **Call of du…** Cough.
So let’s hope that the delay is for the greater good.
